Beliefs

  • Students learn best when they are motivated, challenged, and actively engaged in the learning process
  • Students are unique individuals and should be provided with a variety of instructional approaches to support different learning styles as well as special services and resources for exceptional students (e.g. ELS, Resource, oral testing, Advanced Placement courses, Honors Courses)
  • Reading, writing, assessing, and evaluating are keys to academic success; therefore, as a school, we should focus on teaching these sills at all levels
  • Student involvement in extracurricular activities (athletics, drama, student government, clubs, etc.) enhances overall achievement
  • Because students must learn to take responsibility for their own actions and behavior, development of citizenship, character, respect for others and self-discipline is imperative
  • School personnel should foster open lines of communication
enabling students to freely communicate problems, stresses,
    accomplishments, etc.
  • Teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the responsibility for advancing the school's mission
  • Continuous improvement of our school is imperative
