Washington
School Foundation
The Washington School Foundation was established to enrich
the school’s educational programs, equipment and
facilities. Tuition alone cannot cover the cost of a Washington
School Education. Donations to the Washington School Foundation
create added value to the students’ overall educational
experience.
Annual
Fund
The Annual Fund provides monies for day-to-day necessities.
Donations made to the Annual Fund can be designated for
specific areas such as computer upgrades, educational
software, fine arts programs and supplies, teacher compensation,
etc. The monies donated to the Annual Fund can be used
immediately by the school.
Capital
Fund
Donations made to the Capital Fund are used by the school
to build new facilities, make renovations or invest in
large equipment. An example of what can be achieved through
the Capital Fund is the new Elementary Media Center/Middle
School Administrative Offices. The gym, high school library,
Sykes Hall and the cafeteria are also slated for renovations
and improvements through the Capital Fund.
Endowment
Fund
Also referred to as “Planned Giving,” the
Endowment Fund safeguards the long-term life of the school.
Patrons can make designations through life-insurance policies,
wills, etc. to continue their legacy at Washington School.
The gifts are invested, and after three years, the school
can only use the interest generated from the gifts. The
Endowment Fund ensures the future of Washington School.
Honorariums and Memorials
Honorariums
and Memorials are a touching tribute to a loved-one and
can be designated for any fund. Washington School will
send notification of the gift to the honoree or to the
appropriate family member for a memorial donation.
Courtyard of Excellence

Courtyard of Excellence
The Courtyard of Excellence is located between the
elementary classrooms and the middle school (Cricket Hall)
classrooms with plantings, walkways, benches, and a
fountain. The focus of the area will be that of an
outdoor classroom to be available to teachers in all
grades. Alumni and friends of Washington School have
the unique opportunity to be a part of converting this
area and honoring or memorializing friends and family by
participating in our Courtyard of Excellence.
The Walk of Excellence, which will intersect the
Courtyard, will be a brick and concrete pathway punctuated
with two twenty-foot diameter circles. Each brick
included will be inscribed with the names of donors or
someone the donor wishes to memorialize or honor.
Brick Form
In addition to affording a pleasant and educational vista
for our students, the garden will provide stepping-stones
for the continued academic excellence of our school.

School, contact the Development Office.
